POKOTABI / Sakura Tsudoi
桜つどい
Just off Omori Station, Sakura Tsudoi serves simmering clay-pot rice dishes such as grilled mackerel and sea bream, alongside skewers, sashimi, and set dinner courses.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A short walk down an alleyway near Omori Station leads to Sakura Tsudoi, where seasoned clay-pot rice takes center stage. Varieties range from grilled mackerel (yaki-saba meshi) and sea bream (tai meshi) to braised pork belly (buta kakuni meshi). Sized to feed 3 to 4 people, these sharing pots arrive with pickles and miso soup, making them an ideal finish for groups around the table.
While the rice cooks, the menu offers a broad cast of izakaya staples. Skewers include mixed yakitori platters and scallions wrapped in pork belly. The raw selection features a 3-variety sashimi platter alongside individual cuts of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. Fried bites like house-made grilled thick tofu and simmered pork offal round out the table, pairing naturally with draft Asahi Super Dry or sakes such as Daishichi and Dassai.
Daytime visitors will find substantial lunch specials suited for a quick, filling meal. In the evening, the kitchen turns out multi-course sets featuring chicken or sea bream clay-pot rice as the centerpiece, with an optional all-you-can-drink add-on for parties. The clean, relaxed dining room offers both counter and table seating for an unhurried meal.
